A man was arrested and charged in an attempt to smuggle a bottle of drugs into the city.
Authorities are seeking a sentence of up to three years for the trafficking of two bottles of counterfeit Viagra.
On July 9, 2017, an arrest warrant was issued for the man, who was arrested at an apartment near the border crossing. He was charged with trafficking a quantity of the pills. At the time, the case was still being investigated and it had been a one-count, two-day-long investigation by the U. S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California.
A search warrant was issued on July 17, 2017, and it was determined the man did not have a history of drug trafficking or trafficking.
A U. Attorney’s Office indictment was returned to the U. Attorney’s office.
According to information from the state of California, the man, who was in possession of the drug, was involved in the illegal trafficking of the drugs in violation of the United States and California's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
“When you or someone you know has been arrested, you will need to take into account the consequences to the individual. It is important that you are prepared to answer any of the charges you may have and that you will not be charged with anything," said John F. LaFuria, assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of California.
The U. Attorney's Office is looking for any information related to the case or any individuals who are currently in possession of the drug and who is currently being charged with the same offense.
The man is being held on $10,000 bail, along with a bond of between 5 and 10 months, according to the information filed on June 15, 2018, and the information filed on July 14, 2017, along with a notice of release.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is investigating men who took the erectile dysfunction (ED) drug Viagra and died after having been prescribed the same dose of the blue pill for six months.
The MHRA said the deaths were “serious” and it was investigating the drug’s safety.
According to the MHRA, men between 18 and 65 were prescribed Viagra and died in the first six months following the drug’s introduction in 1998.
The MHRA is investigating whether the drug’s MHRA drug regulator, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, was “inappropriate” in an application for Viagra on the basis that the drug was not approved by the MHRA.
According to the MHRA, the MHRA was notified of the case and the MHRA received a letter from the regulator stating the death was an “unacceptable” and “life threatening” event.
A spokesman for the MHRA said the case was being investigated by the Office of the MHRA’s General Practitioner, Dr Richard Spencer.
The spokesman said: “This case is being investigated by the Office of the MHRA’s General Practitioner, Dr Richard Spencer. This is the latest in a series of investigations by the MHRA into the safety of drugs on the market.
“In particular we would like to investigate whether the MHRA is in the process of issuing a public safety alert on the use of Viagra.
